Ask the Chief

Dear Chief,

After having an argument with a friend, they proclaimed an absurd comment to make me feel bad. This comment more or less made me feel more upset, than feel bad. Should I forgive them easily or give it time?

Signed

Confused

Dear Confused,

I am sorry about the conflict between you and your friend. But maybe he/she wasn’t that good of a friend to try and put you down with cruel words. After all people tend to be more truthful when they are upset. So maybe he/she was being serious about what they said about you. But before you give your friend the cold shoulder try talking to him/her.

Sincerely,

 Chief
