“Zootopia” movie review

By Tori Nix

Zootopia is a movie about Judy Hopps, a first-ever police rabbit who is determined to prove herself to the rest of the police force. However, that means working with Nick Wilde, a sly fox who makes her job even more difficult. The movie is rated PG for its thematic elements, rude humor, and action.

Voice actors in the movie include; Shakira (Gazelle) who sings her newest song, “Try Everything”, Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps), Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde), Idris Elba (Chief Bogo), Tommy Chong (Yax), J.K Simmons (Mayor Lionheart), and Nate Torrence (Clawhauser), and many more.

The movie was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, so fans of any Disney movie are bound to enjoy this comical, made-for-the-whole-family film. Rolling Stones gave the movie a 3.5/4 star rating and commented, “(Zootopia) has attitude, a potent feminist streak, a tough take on racism, and a  cinema-centric plot that references The Godfather, Chinatown and L.A. Confidential.” New York Daily News gave the movie a 4 out of 5 star rating, saying, “It’s so well done, you’d forget that it’s animated.”

In my opinion, Zootopia is a great family film. It has humor that adults will understand and enjoy, creative and colorful characters that children will love, and a great plot that will keep everyone on their toes. This movie deserves a wonderful five-star rating.
