Twitter takes over

By Jennifer Tellez

Many celebrities or famous people in general use Twitter, and almost every other social media to not only advertise their work but to start drama.  I mean, that’s how you get attention from people.  Seeing someone struggle apparently gets everyone’s attention.

Donald Trump for example, attacks people in ways that aren’t really okay. Here are some direct quotes from his Twitter account: “The Democrats, lead by head clown Chuck Schumer, know how bad Obamacare is and what a mess they are in. Instead of working to fix it, they do the political thing and BLAME. The fact is Obamacare was a lie from the beginning. Keep your doctor, keep your plane! It is time for Republicans & Democrats to get together and come up with a healthcare plan that really works- much less expensive & FAR BETTER! ”  Trump is going online and calling people clowns but still wants people to work together…once again, attention, and it’s kind of ignorant.

Another person that puts everything out there is Nicki Minaj. One of her tweets says, “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u”. The media knows a lot about Nicki because she’s everywhere. I don’t think  you should put your relationship status out on the media, especially if you’re a celebrity, since critics will make things out to be something different.

Twitter is starting to become more popular and is worldwide. You can basically find out everything and anything about a celebrity or famous person in general through the media because not only do they post their opinions, but other people judge what they say differently. There are people who make money from just making up rumors; it is crazy.  It’s even crazier that people believe it, too. I don’t like the idea of people stating their opinions so harshly on social media and attacking others. Famous people are probably one of the main reasons why this is a problem. They need the attention and have to get it somehow.
